The Hockey News, a credible online hockey resource has recently ranked the top defenceman in Jets 2.0 history.

Dustin Byfuglien has always been a fan favourite in Jets Nation. Known for his gritty, hard hitting style of play, there's no denying that Byfuglien was a force to be reckoned with during his tenure with the Winnipeg Jets.
Easily one of the most thrilling defenceman in hockey history was Big Buff. The winger-turned-defenceman not only helped carry the Jets on offence at times from the blueline but also delivered crushing hits and played the position skillfully, providing the team with a legit shut-down option on the back-end.
The Minnesota native is the Jets' all-time leader for a defencemen in goals (122), assists (294), points (416), penalty minutes (826) and hits (1,377).

Although his 8 years with the Winnipeg Jets were legendary, he broke the heart of fans when he decided to hang up his skates for the last time.
During the NHL offseason, there was a reported dispute between him and general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff. Opting out on reporting for training camp, this disagreement led to a suspension and Byfuglien decided to walk away from the game all-together.
