The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed defenceman Dylan DeMelo to a big time 4 year deal worth $4.9 million AAV.

Although the announcement comes as great news for Winnipeg Jets fans, how does DeMelo feel about returning to the city of Winnipeg?
«It's huge to get it done. Definitely feels good. Just so happy to stay with Winnipeg, the fit has been fantastic. It feels like my best years have been in Winnipeg and it really feels like my best years are still ahead of me,» said DeMelo.
With all eyes currently on Kevin Cheveldayoff to make strategic key signings heading into the NHL off season, Chevy definitely hit this one out of the park as DeMelo is a core player who consistently contributes to the Jets overall success.
With the new contract in hand, DeMelo will be looking to build off another impressive season in Winnipeg. He finished second in the NHL with a +46, Panthers defenceman Gustav Forsling led the way with +56. Jets fans can rest easy knowing the DeMelo will be doing everything he can to get better for the upcoming campaign.

It's pretty safe to say that DeMelo is elated to be back playing in the great province of Manitoba for another 4 seasons. DeMelo has been a pillar on the Jets blue line and is poised to have another respectable season.
