The latest frenzy in Jets nation revolves around the potential return of former Jets forward Patrik Laine.

The rumours of Patrik Laine's speculated return to Manitoba has sparked a lot of controversy amongst Jets enthusiasts. But recently, sources are saying that his return might not be as impossible as people make it out to be.
The major complexity lies in examining whether the Jets should pursue a deal with Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell considering Laine's past injury history and the financial limitations of the Winnipeg Jets salary cap.
The speculation surrounds the possibility of a blockbuster trade involving Laine and and Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty who has confirmed his position from moving on from the organization due to being "unhappy".
In addition, the Jets are facing a massive decision this off-season, including a potential trade concerning Nikolaj Ehlers. Perhaps if the Blue Jackets decide to retain some of Laine's salary, a value deal could very well happen if the right situation presents itself.
The Winnipeg Jets' strategies going into the the complex off-season will surely dictate the direction of Laine's future with the organization. It all comes down to affordability and timing. Surely, some of the Jets faithful would love to see Patty come back home.
