As the turbulent NHL off-season loom over the Winnipeg Jets, general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff faces new complex challenges regarding their off-season.

Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff will arguably be facing the most challenging off-season of his career as problems continue to surface for the team. Among the complexities Chevy is encountering is a tight salary cap, a very unhappy top prospect, and no first round pick ahead of the 2024 NHL draft.
The Jets need high-end youth outperforming their cap hits, whether on their first or second contracts. McGroarty could have become that, depending on his ability to adapt his dominant collegiate game to the professional ranks. Instead, the relationship between player and club doesn't appear reparable at this time. Thus Winnipeg's biggest hope lies in getting strong value from McGroarty via trade.
Theres no debate that Kevin Cheveldayoff enters the NHL off season with a heavy work load. Will Jets general manager be able to trade his way out of this nightmare off season he has created for himself? The Winnipeg Jets faithful will be patiently waiting to see how these next few weeks unfold.
