When looking back at the 2024 NHL season, the Winnipeg Jets certainly have lots to feel good about, especially regarding forward Kyle Connor.

Kyle Connor was an absolute beast for the Winnipeg Jets last season. The long time veteran forward has never struggled with consistency and he's certainly poised to have another dominating campaign as the Jets look ahead to next season. But lets take a look how Kyle Connor performed last season.
Kyle Connor had another successful campaign from a scoring standpoint as he led the Jets with 34 goals. The now-27-year-old notched 13 goals in his first 15 games. Connor was a key contributor to their success to that point, with a team-leading 17 goals and 11 assists and on pace to be the first 50-goal scorer in Jets 2.0 history

Although there's no debate that Kyle Connor was the most formidable offensive threat for the Jets throughout the course of the season, many Jets enthusiasts have criticized his defensive play. It's an area of his game Connor would certainly like to clean up heading into the 2024-2025 NHL season.
His poor defensive play — turnovers, bad passes, and lack of effort when backchecking — especially hurt the team during their six-game losing streak in March. His line kept getting greatly outshot, out-possessed, and out-chanced. Connor, at times, seemed exempt from Bowness' demand that every player give their best effort defensively.

Sources have graded Kyle Connors play a B+ when breaking down his play last season with the Winnipeg Jets. Connor is certainly the best offensive player on the team, but he will look to improve his defensive play, especially on the back-check.
