As the intensity heightens around Winnipeg Jets top prospect Rutger McGroarty, sources are implying that Kevin Cheveldayoff should not rush the process.

I get the #NHLJets need to get good value for McGroarty, but on the other hand a team like Winnipeg can't allow a player like him dictate the situation here. Chevy needs to balance the two. Also, his track record shows he does well in trades by being patient.

Rutger McGroarty has been heavily scrutinized the past few weeks on social media after being deemed a "red flag" by hockey sources. This has caused many Jets enthusiasts to grow weary of McGroarty with many Jets enthusiasts demanding a trade as soon as possible.
I wouldn't rush to make a deal unless it's an offer the team can't refuse. I'd let him stew until at least the trade deadline, ideally until early part of the 2025-26 season.

Although Jets want their red flagged prospect out of town ASAP, Kevin Cheveldayoff's history reflects his best work being done when he's managed to stay patient through high pressure situations. Cheveldayoff can't let Rutger McGroarty call the shots in this situation and must remain quiet until that golden opportunity presents itself.
