The Winnipeg Jets are primed for a blockbuster offseason move
As we enter the midway mark of the NHL offseason, the drama is far from over.
Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has been heavily scrutinized the past few weeks as his off season so far has been quiet to say the least.
In his defence, Kevin Chevelfayoff has avoided the signing of expensive UFA's that weren't effective in the post season. Furthermore, Chevy has made some key acquisitions regarding their Manitoba Moose AHL farm system.
In addition to the subtle work Chevy's pulled off, the savvy veteran GM is notorious for being patient. Historically, the best trades he's executed were timely and calculated over time.
Although Cheveldayoff opted out on partaking in the free agency frenzy, the offseason is far from over and we can surely anticipate a blockbuster move by the Jets any time now.
The Jets have been extremely quiet. They signed some smaller names to short-term deals, but the
Rutger McGroarty situation looms over the franchise. Finally, there is speculation that
Nikolaj Ehlers is on his way out.
With elite trade bait potential in Ehlers and McGroarty, fans are wondering just what does GM Cheveldayoff has up his sleeve? The Jets are primed for a blockbuster trade, its inevitable at this point.
