One Winnipeg Jets prospect who seems to be generating the most hype between the pipes is Thomas Milic.
Selected all the way back in the 7th round at 207th overall, Thomas Milic could potentially prove to be the best 7th round pick in franchise history.
The former WHL standout with the Seattle Thunderbirds started his campaign in the ECHL with the Admirals, amassing an All-Star nod by posting an 11-3-3 record, 2.45 GAA, .908 SV%, and a pair of shutouts.
As one of the AHL's youngest goalies, Milic posted a 19-9-2 record, 2.72 GAA, .900 SV% while capturing his first professional shutout and playing an instrumental role in helping the Moose make the Calder Cup Playoffs after a historically-bad first half that included an 11-game losing streak.
Although Milic is considered undersized in modern day NHL, he hasn't let those perceptions stop him from rising to the occasion. His demeanor and style of play very much parallels Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Sarros.
The Winnipeg Jets have made some recent offseason acquisitions between the pipes regarding Kaapo Kahkonen and Eric Comrie, thus making the competition for the backup goaltender increasingly interesting.
Although Milic is poised for another season of AHL development, the young prospect is showing promising potential and flashes of all star capabilities in net.
