With the NHL season almost wrapped up, Winnipeg Jets fans look ahead to the awards ceremony as goaltender Connor Hellebuyk is poised to win his second Vezina trophy.

Despite having a disappointing end to the NHL season, Winnipeg Jets enthusiasts find comfort in a healthy distraction as their beloved starting goaltender is a shoe in to win his second career Vezina trophy.
Over to Connor Hellebuyck, who may just be the favourite to take home the Vezina trophy this season. Hellebuyck finished the season with a 37-19-4 record, a 2.39 goals-against average a .921% save percentage. Hellebuyck finished near the top of the league with 5 shutouts in 60 games, and made the 2nd most total saves in the league with 1656.

Among the other candidates are Florida Panther Sergei Bobrovsky and Vancouver Canucks Thatcher Demko. Although the other honourable mentions are well deserving of their nominations, theres no real debate as to who the clear cut winner is as Connor Hellebuyk was a beast for the Winnipeg Jets all season long.
«Number 1 for me. It's very well deserved. He is the backbone. Every great team has a great goaltender and this guy is a great goaltender.» said former head coach Rick Bowness.

The awards ceremony are set to begin Thursday, June 27th 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
