With Winnipeg Jets forward still hanging in limbo, is there any possibility of the Winnipeg Jets making it work with Nikolaj Ehlers?

With the Danish forward entering the final year of his contract, its crunch time for Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff as he navigates his priorities and his tight salary cap.
Ehlers is set to be making $6 million this season, although it may seem like a hefty price for Cheveldayoff to pay right now, he has made it known that Ehlers is an integral part of the organization.
"As far as Nikolaj, he's a big part of what we have going forward here."

Many sources have speculated that Nikolaj Ehlers could be much happier in another market, but the Jets is the only team has ever known. It's no secret that many hockey clubs are highly interested in hunting down the veteran forward who would be willing to pay big time money. If thats the case, there's nothing Kevin Cheveldayoff can do to stop this from happening.
While Kevin Cheveldayoff hasn't made an offer to Ehlers yet, many hockey enthusiasts are thinking that a trade will be imminent and are mentally preparing for the inevitable.
