The worst news possible has struck St. Louis Blues enthusiasts as defenceman Torey Krug will be out indefinitely with early onset arthritis arthritis in his ankle.
News: #stlblues announce defenseman Torey Krug has been diagnosed with pre-arthritic issues in his ankle. He's hoping for non-surgical intervention, but currently out indefinitely, and if surgery is required he will miss the entire season.
This comes as a massive blow for the St. Louis Blues. The long time defensive veteran has been a staple on their blue line since being acquired by the Boston Bruins.
The 33-year-old defenceman missed a portion of the 2023-24 campaign after suffering a foot injury during the offseason. Krug returned to the Blues during preseason but missed further time during the regular season due to a lower body injury.
Krug registered four goals and 35 assists for 39 points in 77 games during the 2023-24 season, averaging 21:58 minutes of ice time. His 39 points surpasses the 2022-23 totals where he notched seven goals and 32 points in 63 games.
