Winnipeg Jets fans are urging management to "Bring Laine Home" amidst intensifying trade rumours.

After it was announced Patrik Laine has been cleared from the NHLPA's players assistance program due to reported mental struggles, Patrik Laine is looking for a new place to call home, and Jets enthusiasts are calling on GM Cheveldayoff to make it happen.
Laine, whose hockey career has fallen completely off since being dealt to Columbus (for Pierre-Luc Dubois, who has now been traded two more times since), had another disappointing season and has personally requested a change of scenery from Ohio.

With Laine looking for a resurgence in his career, the time is now to bring Patty Laine back to Manitoba. Laine had is best career numbers playing for the Jets and was a contender for the Rocket Richard Trophy during the 2017-18 campaign.
Davis Payne, the newly acquired assistant bench boss for the Jets will be in charge of delegating the teams power-play next season. Payne was been labeled a special teams "guru", and fans would love to see what Laine could bring to the table. Laine notched 52 power-play goals in 306 games with the Jets, and Davis Payne could potentially be the catalyst to increase those numbers even more.
Laine's $8.7 million average annual value is a big obstacle.

As of Thursday, the Jets have $5.7 million in cap space, and they've yet to sign restricted free agent Cole Perfetti. One way or another, Perfetti's contract will eat up most, if not all, of that depending on whether he signs a bridge or a long-term extension.
